The Seminary celebrated her Patron Feast Day, St. Albert the Great. The celebration began with the Holy Mass which was presided over by the Rector, Very Rev Fr. Anselm Ekhelar. During the Mass, Rev Fr. Anthony Aderibigbe, the homilist, identified three major reasons why the Church celebrates and honours the Saints:  first, the Church honour the Saints in order to celebrate our faith in the power of God's grace. Secondly, the Saints are celebrated in other for us to imitate their faith and be inspired through the life they led. Lastly, the Saints are celebrated so that we may enjoy their intercession since they are in a better position to help us acquire our needs. He noted further that “our gathering here today is based on these three reasons to celebrate St. Albert who became great because he dedicated his life to the service of God, the Church, and humanity.”He thus encouraged all present to imitate St. Albert the Great and dedicate themselves to the service of God and also to offer their gifts and talents to God, the Church and humanity.

After the Holy Mass, the Seminary community hosted Friends of the Seminary to a lunch which was coloured with different activities and presentations from the Seminarians. In his opening remark at the second part of the event, Rev Fr. Enoch Usifo, the Director of FOSAGS, on behalf of the Seminary Community, welcomed FOSAGS representatives to the Seminary for the 2022 Feast Day/and seized the opportunity to thank them for all they are doing in support of the Seminary.

The Rector, Very Rev Fr. Anselm Ekhelar, in his closing remark, reiterated the FOSAGS Director’s words of appreciation to all FOSAGS members including those who were unavoidably absent. He emphasized how God has been sustaining the Seminary Community through the generous acts of the FOSAGS. He prayed the Lord to continue to bless their respective families and works.
