As it is customary, St. Albert the Great Major Seminary held her sixth Inaugural Mass of the Holy Spirit on November 25, 2020, the event which marked the opening of the 2020/2021 Academic/Formative Session, it also witnessed the formal inauguration of the Department of Theology.

The Chief Celebrant, Most. Rev. Francis Adesina, Bishop of Ijebu Ode Diocese, in his homily emphasized that formation is the gift of the Holy Spirit which must not be taken for granted either by Formators or students, because without divine help we can achieve nothing.

He made reference to Covid-19 pandemic and its drastic effect on the nation as a whole especially the effect it has on academics and formation. He recommended the exhortation of Pope Francis entitled “Life after the Pandemic” and equally encouraged the seminarians to avail themselves to formation, and to utilize effectively the time spent in the seminary in service of love, care and good deeds.
