BEGIN IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUE CONSISTENTLY Bishop Peter Odetoyinbo tells Seminarians

St Albert the Great Major Seminary 2022/2023 Formation Session resumed on Monday 3rd October, 2022. The Inaugural Mass of the Holy Spirit for the official opening of the session was presided over by His Lordship, Most Rev Peter Odetoyinbo, the Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta, on Wednesday 5th October, 2022. All resident Formators were present and some external Formators together with well-wishers were also in attendance.
In his homily, the Bishop charged the Seminarians to be proud of their Catholic faith. He further challenged them to better understand, appreciate and know the importance of the Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit which is always used to officially declare a new session open. In his words, “it is because your Bishops trust and hope in the Holy Spirit that they sent you to the Seminary with the hope that you will become priests and continue the work of evangelization”. He passionately admonished that they should shun every form of disobedience, unchastity, immorality saying: “You are not here to be disobedient and immoral. Rather, you are here to be formed holistically by the Church. You are here to find the truth in the light of the Holy Spirit. Hence, begin immediately and continue consistently in search of Eternal Truth, Jesus Christ”, he concluded.
