REJOICE AND BE GLAD BECAUSE A CHILD IS BORN FOR US

The Seminary, on Sunday, 8th December, 2019, celebrated her annual Christmas Lessons and Carols ina grand style. In the Christmas message delivered at the event,Very Rev Fr. John Nwanze, exhorted the people saying, “rejoice and be glad because a child is born for us, a son is given to us” (Isa 9:5). He espoused that the child born to us will have dominion naturally laid on his shoulder. He would be distinguished as leader of a people whose hopes were once dashed because they lived in the midst of uncertainties. This has been changed because the Wonder-Counsellor, Mighty-God, Eternal-father, Prince-of-Peace has been born (Isa 9:6). The character of such ruler brought great light to a people who walked in darkness, and lived in the land of deep shadow (Isa 9:1). Contextualizing his message, Fr Nwanze said that democracy has cast a shadow of darkness in the lives of many Nigerians and the world over. Hopelessness permeates the land and the world at large. Nonetheless, the hope of man gathers positive momentum at the dawn of the celebration of the birth of the Prince-of-Peace. This brings great rejoicing and gladness to the hearts of men and women all over the world.
