SAGS ADMITS HER SECOND SET AS CANDIDATES FOR SACRED ORDERS

On Tuesday, 25th of January, 2022, the feast day of the Conversion of St. Paul, the Seminary Community of St. Albert the Great admitted her second set as candidates for Sacred Orders. The newly admitted candidates for Sacred Orders were twenty-six in number. The holy mass of the admission was celebrated by the Chairman of the Governing Council and Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta, His Lordship, Most Rev Peter Odetoyinbo.

During the Homily, the Bishop noted that he came not of his own accord but on behalf of all the Bishops of the Lagos, Ibadan, and Benin-City ecclesiastical provinces. He therefore encouraged the candidates for the Sacred Orders to remain focused and be converted. He added that they should walk away from every any activity, attitude, gathering, behaviour and other obstacles that will may obstruct them from of getting to their goal.

The Rector of the Seminary, Rev. Fr. Anselm Ekhelar in his remarks expressed his gratitude to the Bishop in the name of the Seminary Community. He also admonished the Candidates to take their vocation seriously.
