THIRTY-ONE SENT FORTH FOR PASTORAL YEAR EXPERIENCE

On Sunday 23rd of September, 2019, the Seminary Community reached another land mark as the Pioneer Set of the institution completed their first phase in formation for the Sacred Priesthood.

At Mass, the Rector of the Seminary, Very Rev Fr. Anselm Ekhelar, in the mood of gratitude made it clear to the Pioneer Students that as today marks the official end of the first phase in their journey to the Priesthood, in the same vein, it marks the beginning of another phase which begins with Pastoral Year in their various dioceses.

In the second part of the celebration which was loaded with admonishments and fun, the Mentor of the outgoing students and Registrar of the Seminary, Rev Fr. Dr.

Emmanuel Lewis, joined his voice of gratitude with others during his welcome address and warned the outgoing students to keep in mind that they are Ambassadors of the Seminary. You have completed a phase in life he said, be men of prayer as you embark on the next phase.

Rounding off the admonishment, the Rector of the Seminary recounted how the journey of the Seminary formation started with these young men and how it has been tough from then till now. He noted that the journey has not been an easy one for them and when they come back for theological studies, they should expect it to be tougher because the task ahead of them demands such. “As you go, speak the truth and uphold the truth” he emphasized.

The outgoing Senior Prefect, Mr. Emmanuel Ophuoghori, on behalf of the class, expressed his gratitude to the Proprietors of the Seminary, the Team of Formator, Benefactors, Staff, and their younger ones for who they are and for what they have contributed to sustain their formation.

It is our prayer that the Lord who has brought you this far will continue to guide and guard you as you embark on your pastoral year.
