The Family of St. Albert the Great Major Seminary (SAGS), Idowu-Offonran, came together to celebrate its second Family Week, a vibrant and exciting week-long event dedicated to honouring the Seminary's friends and celebrating the diverse cultures and traditions of its members. The event, which took place from November 10 to November 17, 2024, brought together the Formators, Staff, Friends, Seminarians and Alumni of the Seminary for a series of activities aimed at strengthening the bonds within the SAGS family.

The week officially kicked off on Sunday, November 10, and each day of the week featured distinct activities. On Wednesday, November 13, the community observed the Feast Day of St. Albert the Great, with a special Alumni Celebration. The day also saw the recognition of two remarkable individuals within the SAGS Family: Rev. Sr. Patricia Oguejiofor, O.L.A who marked her 41st anniversary of religious profession, and Mama Veronica Chinyere Anyanwu, who celebrated her 70th birthday.

The highlight of the event, which was the cutting of the cake, designed to represent different milestones in Mama Anyanwu's life, was a masterpiece. Mama Anyanwu was joined by her family members and friends as they cut the cake amid cheers and applause. The cake-cutting was followed by a toast given by Rev. Fr. Olufunmilayo. At the end of the toast, he prayed for Mama Anyanwu's good health, happiness, and many more years of joy.

To further add colour to the week-long event, the 5th edition of the AGORA Journal, a publication of SAGS was unveiled. The Journal addresses various societal issues and serves as an important platform for intellectual engagement within the community. In the same token, the Seminary's 2024 Christmas Card was presented during the closing ceremony.

The Rector of the Seminary, Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Lewis, expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the Family Week celebration. In his remarks, he praised the organizers for their efforts and urged all to continue fostering love and unity. The week concluded with the Rector officially declaring the Family Week closed, marking the end of a successful and memorable celebration.
