Seventy-five Seminarians from three academic sessions; 2021/2022, 2022/2023, and 2023/2024, of Philosophy Department of the Seminary of St. Albert the Great, Idowu-Offonran, had their matriculation into the University of Benin, Benin-City on Wednesday, the 20th of March, 2024, at the Seminary’s auditorium.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Lillian Imuetinyan Salami, was ably represented by Professor O. K. Omorogiuwa, the Chairman of the Affiliation Supervisory Committee of UNIBEN Admission Board. During the presentation of his address, Professor Omorogiuwa expressed his immense joy and satisfaction over the long-standing relationship between the Seminary and the University. He acknowledged the Seminary’s outstanding academic performance congratulated the seventy-five Seminarians on making the right choice.
In his address, the Rector of the Seminary,Very Rev.Fr. Emmanuel Lewis, expressed his profound gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Benin-City, for providing the opportunity to equip Seminarians with adequate knowledge of Philosophy. He promised that the Seminary, in her capacity will make all necessary efforts to keep her promise to produce sound and intelligentpriestsafter the heart of Christ.
Also present at the ceremony was Mr. Abdul-Hakeem Abdul-Hameed, the Ogun State Coordinator of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), who congratulated the two institutions for maintaining their relationship. Others present at the ceremony included Formators, Staff, and Seminarians.
